Give me a pair of impeccable fitting jeans and a perfect white tee and my wardrobe would be complete. Of course with the exception of a myriad of fabulous handbags, sky-high heels, colourful sneakers, fabulous flats, knee-high boots, booties in every heel-height, you get the idea.
Anya Hindmarch Featherweight Ebury *proud owner since July ’15
As soon as I saw Anya Hindmarch’s “sticker” collection I immediately began lusting over several bags I absolutely needed. I have always been drawn to bright colours so the yellow Ebury tote with the perforated “Have A Nice Day” was a no brainer when it came to choosing which one would be mine. Many of the stickers were initially sold out, when they were first released, but I managed to track down the, Mickey Mouse peace fingers from Selfridges in London, England. The stickers suddenly became an addiction of mine and I currently the proud owner of approximately 20!!! Obsessive I know.
Chloe Marcie Medium Crossbody *proud owner since June 2015
I tend to be drawn to vibrant colours however last spring I began seeing gorgeous blushes, creams and nudes on all my favourite fashion pages. Although not the most practical bag, I fell in love with the Chloe because the perfect pinkish/blush colour which was like nothing I had in my closet.
Gucci Linea A Hobo Embossed Leather Shoulder Bag *proud owner since April 2016
I have been looking for the perfect shade of red in a bag for a few months now. When I saw Gucci’s spring 2016 collection, I initially fell in love with the red Soho Crossbody. I looked at it a few times but wasn’t crazy about it due to it’s small size. I found a preowned red Celine Medium Trapeze bag however, the red was too much of a blood-red and not the perfect shade I was looking for. Just as I was about to purchase the Soho Gucci Crossbody the salesperson showed my the Linea A Hobo in red and didn’t have to think about it twice before I took it home with me.
Chanel Lambskin Jumbo Double Flap *proud owner since February 2007
Living in Los Angeles for several years it wasn’t usual to see most of the trendy girls carrying a Chanel Double Flap bag. I was working in the fashion industry in LA for several years and on a trip business trip to New York and went into Chanel on 5th Avenue “just to browse” and saw the double flap in a gorgeous navy lambskin in the jumbo version. At that time even the jumbo Chanel was a lot smaller than the bags I was used to carrying but I couldn’t help but make this this beauty mine because I knew a fabulous bag like this would be timeless.
Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 40 Personalized *proud owner since June 2015
As far as luxury handbags, I think Louis Vuitton was the first bag I splurged on many of years ago. For the past decade I had all my LV’s in storage and was completely bored with seeing everyone carrying similar bags wherever I was in the world. When Louis Vuitton released their campaign for personalizing items, I realized I suddenly wanted to dig through my storage boxes and find all my LV pieces. After sifting through my handbag collection, I still found myself going to LV’s website and choosing the perfect colour ways to order my own personalized bag. The only reason I hesitated was the eight week waiting period to receive the bag. I wanted it right away. Needless to say, I ended up ordering the Speedy 40 and it’s probably the bag I currently use most.
The thing about luxury brand bags these days is they tend to be quite pricey but if taken care of well (as I do) they will last a lifetime and help justify the cost.
